Millcraft Industries, Inc. is a Pittsburgh based real estate developer and management company with a fifty-year history of successfully creating and maintaining prominent large-scale office and mixed-use developments.  Established in 1957, this family owned company has built its reputation on a tradition of vision and excellence.  The hallmark of this tradition can be found in Millcraft’s steadfast commitment to customer service, integrity, hard work, stability and profitability.  Through the long-standing cultivation of these ideals and experience, Millcraft Industries has emerged as a recognized leader in development of real estate and hospitality.

 

Today, Millcraft’s Real Estate Division is a multi-million dollar operation, which has participated and directed a variety of real estate ventures, including industrial properties, commercial office buildings and retail, golf course communities, hotels and restaurants and residential developments.

One of Millcraft’s crown achievements in real estate was the successful master plan and development of Southpointe Business Park.  Southpointe is Western Pennsylvania’s most successful and highest recognized mixed use park.  With nearly $500 million invested in Southpointe from the private and public sector, the park is now employing over 6,000 employees and has over 2,500 people living within its confines. The vision and investment of over $100 million from Millcraft Industries made this private/public partnership a success.

Strategically, in partnership with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Washington County and City of Washington, Millcraft has established itself as a prime leader in the redevelopment of the City of Washington with its Crossroads project.  The Crossroads is a $100 million revitalization of the downtown area of Washington, Pennsylvania focusing on development of commercial office space, urban living, retail and entertainment.  It is estimated that the project will create nearly 1,000 new jobs for the city.  Ground breaking for the first phase of The Crossroads was completed in 2007 with the construction of LandAmerica Centre, a 160,000 square foot mixed use building.

In 2006, with the City of Pittsburgh undergoing a renaissance, Millcraft Industries purchased the former Lazarus Building, a 260,000 square foot vacant department store, located in Downtown Pittsburgh.  The building is located strategically at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Wood Street, a major thoroughfare in the central business district of the City of Pittsburgh. The former department store has been transformed into a 7 story, mixed-used development, with a three-story underground parking garage. The $70 million project consists of 65 luxury roof-top condominiums, 180,000 square feet of Class A+ office space, 50,000 sq. ft. of prime retail.  World-class amenities have established a new standard of living in the heart of the city.  Piatt Place provides a unique opportunity to live, work, shop, dine and enjoy life’s finer comforts, all within the same address.  Other amenities include a business center for meetings or gatherings, a fitness center, a ten (10) year tax abatement program, and parking in the garage below the building.  Residents enjoy keyed elevator access to the upper levels and vista-view balconies.  A large common area courtyard on the 5th floor is furnished with outdoor furniture and barbecue grills.

In 2008, Millcraft Industries purchased the former G. C. Murphy building located on Market Square in Downtown Pittsburgh.  Currently under construction and with occupancy slated for November 2009, Market Square Place, a LEED certified development, will contain approximately 27,000 SF of retail on the first floor, a 44,000 SF YMCA with a pool and 49,000 SF of residential on the upper floors.  The residential component will include a total of 46 apartments with a parking space in the lower level parking garage for each unit.  Amenities include a private rooftop courtyard, Game Room and Media Room.  The lofts will offer open floor plans, huge windows and the exposed bricks and beams that date back to the turn of the century.  Included in the development is “The Tower,” which is a 7 story exclusive apartment structure above all the rest.  Each of the 5 Tower penthouses will offer private elevator access and fantastic views that will be up to 180 degrees of windows overlooking Fifth Avenue.

                 

In Phase 2 of the Fifth and Market revitalization project, Millcraft is proposing “The Gardens of Market Square”.  The Gardens project, which will be designed to be LEED certified, will be comprised of up to 250 apartments and condos and approximately 100,000 square feet of destination retail.  It is estimated that this project will be completed in 2010 for a cost of nearly $75 million.
